I met these two at their engagement photoshoot. My first impression of them was that there was a giant glow about them. You could see their love for each other with them just standing next to each other. They are just so cute, nice, and funny. Their story touched my heart because their story was very similar to mine and my husbands. We took their engagements up the Provo, Utah Canyon and it was so cold. I came prepared with hand warmers which was a nose saver (laugh). Once our session was done, we went to Starbucks for some much needed hot chocolate.
Dallin proposed to Whitney after the both of them returned from their LDS weddings. On a trip with Dallin’s family to the Bahamas in November 2017, the two of them went Kayaking to a private island. On that island, he popped the question and she obviously said YES!
Next we focused on bridals. We decided to photograph the bridals at the Payson Temple in the evening since their wedding would take place in the morning. This way we were able to get photos done with the sunset. It was also cold because it was in the evening. It was me (Elisa and Mitch my husband) the bride and groom and the brides grandmother. Her grandmother was amazing! She made sure that the veil, dress, and hair were in the right spot. She was also the updater. Whitney's mother was out of town so she was making sure that she stayed updated and got those cell phone photos. It was so great having her there.
There’s something about a classic, formal wedding inside of a church that gets me every time. It just feels so pure and cinematic. Though it was very intimate, this wedding day is a serious contender for one of the most fun weddings I have ever had the chance to not only photograph, but to also attend. From the temple wedding in Payson to the Highland Gardens in American Fork, it was just a day full of fun. And, as you’d expect, the bridesmaids and groomsmen were just as much fun. I mean, there are wedding parties… and then there are wedding PARTIES.
Mingled in with the uproarious events were some genuinely sweet moments, too. I loved the luncheon and the messages your parents gave to you both was so touching. Whitney- Your fathers song that he sang for you had me crying on the floor (really that's where I was sitting so I wasn't in the way). The kindness of your families was so nice. They would talk to me like I was one of the guests. I met many aunts and uncles that I want as my own (haha). Your friends in the dance circle was phenomenal. Started in a huge group then lingered to 2. It was awesome! The details you put into the reception were beautiful. Just goes to show that fun and love go together really, really well. Congrats again, Whitney and Dallin, and is it too much to ask that you put me on the invite list for any of your future get-togethers…? Ha!
